ISLE OF BUTE FESTIVAL OF CYCLING 2012 or `Rothesay Weekend’ is 4 road-bike races over two days, including the infamous Serpentine hill-climb, a 2-up time trial event around the island, a 10 mile time trial, and a road race; with some good old-fashioned socialising in between. It has been in place at least as far back as the 1950s; these days its organised through TLI and is a laid-back affair, with a broad range of ages and abilities. In 2012 we are going all out for the best weekend ever – watch this space

Bute BackPackers

Bute is a great place to cycle, and has something for all. The island is easy to get to, has fabulous scenery, very little traffic, lots of cafes – and then provides great access to hardcore cycling around Cowal.

Routes on Bute

Mountain Biking is set for a major boost on Bute with the imminent development of some proper trails through the Rhubodach Forest

SERPENTINE HILLCLIMB: COME AND HAVE A GO…Lurking behind the main square in Rothesay town centre lies one of Scotland’s most technical hillclimbs…IF YOU’RE HARD ENOUGH Serpentine

In 2011 we were asked at short notice to host the Drummond Classic Road Race, as part of the Rothesay Weekend – it was a bit of a squeeze but also a great success. The Rothesay Weekend was well and truly back!
